Mathematics is a very important science in everyday life. As a teacher, they must know the level of ability of their students in learning mathematics, and this can be known by giving questions or tests to students with the material they have learned. Then the researcher needs to identify the students 'mistakes in working on story problems in mathematics. So based on the above context, there is a formulation of the problem that is concluded, namely: About how students' mistakes in solving story form problems in flat-shape mathematics for grade IV students at MI KH. Romly Tamim Poncokusumo based on problem solving? So according to this perception the researcher conducted this research using a qualitative approach. This type of research is a case study. In this study, the results and discussion of students' mistakes in the story problem were found, namely the first was not being able to understand the problem in the problem, the second was the error at the stage of making the solving plan, the third was the error at the calculation stage, the fourth was the error at the re-checking stage.
