Efektifitas Penggunaan Aplikasi Duolinggo dalam Pengajaran Kosakata Siswa SMP

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of the Duolingo application before and after using the application is effective or not in teaching vocabulary of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Solor Timur in the academic year 2021/2022.The researcher applied Pre-experimental research using one group pre-test and post-test. Consists of eight meetings including treatment, the sample of this researcher is the students of class IX SMP Negeri 1 Solor Timur totaling 30 students. Samples were taken by total sampling techniques. The researcher used multiple choice test as the instrument of this research and data analysis using SPSS 20 (Statistical Product and Service Solution). Based on statistical test results, the researcher found that the t-test was higher than the t-table (3,491>2,408). So, H1 (Alternative Hypo thesis) is accepted and Ho (Null Hypothesis) is rejected. Also, the mean score of post-test was 68, 47 than the pre-test was 62, 83 so that the post test was higher than pre-test. So, there is a significant effect after using Duolingo application. It can be concluded that the Duolingo application is effective in increasing the vocabulary of class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Solor Timur
