Peningkatan Kemampuan Berbicara Siswa dengan Menggunakan Ice Breaker di Kelas IX SMP Bhakti Malang

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' speaking skills which can help students in mastering vocabulary and being able to pronounce correct sentences. The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR). Using the learning model that is used as a reference in this study is Ice Breaker. This research leads to the stage of classroom action research that uses two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection (Kurt Lewin). The results of the action of this study were based on test results, the pre-test score obtained 35.45, the post-test score for the first cycle was 54.45, the post-test score for the second cycle was 96, and the percentage result from the pres-test to the first cycle was 53.59% and the percentage of cycles I to II cycle is 76.30%. From the increase in test scores and percentages, the Ice Breaker strategy can be used by teachers and students in the learning process.
