Abstract

Education Indonesia is very much different from what was expected, this can be seen in terms of the quality of education that is not in sync with the changing times. In addition to the need for the expansion of educational opportunities in terms of quality, there are still many aspects that need to be improved. In today's world of education, we can see that education in Indonesia is very much different from what is expected, this can be seen from the quality of education that is not in sync with the times. Apart from the need to expand educational opportunities in terms of quality, there are still many aspects that need to be improved. Aspects that need to be improved are writing, listening, reading and speaking.This study aimd to improve the learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Rindi in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year in learning English, especially in recount text material.

This study used the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model, the type of research used in classroom action research (CAR). The method used in this research ing Classroom Action Research which has four stages of iterative reflection; planning, action, observing and reflection. In the research, the target subject is class X SMA Negeri 1 Rindi Sumba Timur (NTT) for the academic year 2021/2022 as many as 20 students. The results of the research in the first cycle with the application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model in learning English, especially in the recount text material with the results of data analysis; In the first cycle of completeness students get a completeness score of 66.67%. With the results of the score analysis above, the student learning outcomes have not been successful, it is necessary to make improvements in cycle II with post test II. Completeness cycle II, student learning outcomes in cycle II in post test I students achieve completeness of 73.33%. After making improvements in the second cycle with post-test. test. Student learning outcomes on test II have increased with a total score of 93.33% with an average number of 59% reaching the highest score of 73, having reached the complete category. So that in cycle II the TPS learning model used has been successfully applied to class X students of SMA Negeri Rindi in English subjects, especially in recount text mat erial. With the above discussion, it can be concluded that the TPS learning model can improve the learning outcomes of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Rindi with recount text material.
