Abstract

The process of studying biology at this time needs to integrate science and technology. Based on the preliminary study it was found that teachers experienced problems related to the development of instructional media. Therefore, video microlearning using the Canva application is expected to be an alternative to overcome this problem. The purpose of this study was to find out the form of microlearning video development using the Canva application on the respiratory system material. This research is a type of Research and Development research with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). However, this research only carried out three stages of ADD (Analysis, Design, and Development) due to limited research time. The research instruments were interview guidelines, student analysis questionnaire sheets, material validation sheets, media validation sheets, and student response questionnaires for a limited-scale trial of 12 students and a large-scale of 24 students. The types of research data are quantitative data and qualitative data. Research data were analyzed using the quantitative descriptive. The research results showed that the development of microlearning videos using the Canva application on respiratory system material was declared valid by material experts (75%), very valid by media experts (93.75%), and valid based on the results of limited-scale student response trials (80%). Thus, the development of video microlearning using the Canva application on respiratory system material is feasible for use in biology learning in junior high schools.
