Analisis Kesalahan Siswa Kelas 7 SMP Dalam Penulisan Himpunan

Abstract

Sets is one of the materials in Mathematics which is only recently recognized by students in 7 grade junior high school because it has not been taught in elementary schools. One thing that students must learn in the set material is to write down the set. This is one of the difficulties experienced by students so that errors are found when completing. The purpose of this study was to describe the errors found in 7 grade junior high school students when writing sets by way of formulating. The research method used is by testing, documentation, and interviews. The research subjects were 25 students of 7 grade junior high school in a private school in Malang, consisting of 13 female students and 12 male students. The results showed 11 students made mistakes in writing the set by formulating. The reasons put forward include not understanding symbols and not understanding how to write sets.
