Abstract

This study aims to introduce a unique planting technique, namely a planting medium called kokedama. The method is taken using a descriptive qualitative approach where the data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. Kokedama growing media can help teachers to foster caring attitudes towards their environment and improve student skills in planting. The results prove that the implementation of environmental care is carried out well, the teacher has provided facilities related to environmental awareness and proof of the response of fifth grade students shows that their enthusiasm in introducing kokedama media is quite high, they are new to kokedama planting media, and admittedly this media is quite unique and suitable. At SDN 02 Klegen, only 3 of 24 students were less responsive, due to a lack of understanding in knowing the kokedama growing media and students 'lack of intelligence in knowing the media and students' lack of awareness about caring for the environment
