Pemberdayaan Masyarakat untuk Ibu-Ibu Paguyuban Melalui Pelatihan Pembuatan “Natural Soap” Berbahan Dasar Minyak Jelantah dengan Berbagai Bentuk Unik dan Menarik.

Abstract

After repeated use, the cooking oil will turn blackish brown. This used oil is carcinogenic so this used oil should not be used again. This oil, which is commonly known as used cooking oil, is often thrown away carelessly by mothers so that the impact will become waste in the surrounding environment. This community empowerment activity aims to educate mothers about the dangers of using used cooking oil repeatedly. Besides that, it will also provide a solution so that used cooking oil can be reused in other forms or products, one of which is natural soap. The participants in this activity were the mothers of the Kusuma Mulia II Kindergarten Association of Kacangan-Kandangan-Kediri, totaling 12 people. This activity includes discussions, demonstrations and hands-on practice. The results of this service activity showed that the participants were very enthusiastic and listened during the process, this can be seen from the increase in the pretest score from 65.83 to 86.66. Besides that, the participants were also enthusiastic and active in practicing natural soap making. After the end of this activity, it is hoped that the women will become more aware of the dangers of using used cooking oil and can use the oil to make a more useful product. Besides that, it can also improve the economy of housewives, because the products produced from used cooking oil can be marketed.
