Abstract

Learning activities during the COVID-19 pandemic have been simplified starting from the curriculum to the learning process of students both at school and at home. A professional teacher is required to be able to address the simplification of the curriculum that occurs. Curriculum simplification cannot be separated from changes in the learning system, from fully face-to-face learning, to combined face-to-face and online learning. The use of English learning videos allows students to study independently with or without teacher guidance. The purpose of this study was to examine the development of learning videos and the validity of English learning videos with a scientific approach as a support of learning for senior high school students in eleventh grade on the subject of explanation text. This development research was carried out at MA Maarif Sukorejo in the 2020/2021 academic year. This study uses the ADDIE development model. Based the results of the first phase validation involves validator experts and practitioners obtained average score assessment 3,02 (valid). The results of the second stage of limited validation involves 10 validator users obtained average score assessment is 3,46 (very valid) and average score of learning evaluation is 80.4 with either (B). The results of the second stage of validation is widely involves 27 validator users obtained average score assessment is 3,47 (very valid) and average score of learning evaluation is 80 with either (B).
