Abstract

The decline in environmental awareness has resulted in the destruction of nature. This is because of the loss of human guidance in treating nature. Whereasfolklore as a guide is believed by the collective community to be able to regulate human behavior. The values ​​contained in folklore can be a human foothold in good behavior. This study aims to describe the value of environmental care characters in the folktale "Hikayat Kampung Lost, Bakan Jati" in Tegalwaru District, Karawang Regency. This research includes field research. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques used interview techniques, recording techniques, and note-taking techniques. As well as data analysis techniques using an apocalyptic literary approach. The findings show the existence of environmental care values ​​that are able to provide awareness of environmental love through apocalyptic narratives. Among them are found in apocalyptic environments, hero characters, and environmental visions. So that the folklore "Hikayat Kampung Lost, Bakan Jati" is able to become a medium for the development and formation of environmental care characters for children and the local community
