Abstract

Students' language skills are very important in the learning process at school. However, in this online learning, many teachers have difficulty in assessing students' language skills. A special strategy is needed to identify and assess students' language skills, especially in terms of reading. The purpose of the study was to determine the teacher's strategy in improving the reading skills of elementary school students. This research is a case study research conducted in several elementary schools in the city and district of Bogor, one of which is SDIT Alif. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis using data analysis Milles and Huberman. Teachers in primary schools have their own strategies to see students' reading skills and strategies to improve reading skills. The strategy shows positive results because the teacher can determine the reading skills of their students and increase students' reading skills.
