ANALISIS MAKNA DALAM STATUS WHATSAPP MAHASISWA IKIP BUDI UTOMO MALANG (TINJAUAN SEMANTIK)

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning of the WhatsApp status of Ikip Budi Utomo Malang students, as well as to describe the factors that influence the meaning. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source in this study is the WhatsApp status of Ikip Budi Utomo Malang students. This study uses library research which does not require a special location to conduct the research because the object studied is only the WhatsApp status of Ikip Budi Utomo Malang student. The subject in this study is the meaning contained in each WhatsApp status. The total number of statuses analyzed is 40 statuses. The technique used in data collection is the screenshot technique, the screenshot technique is a technique to screenshot the WhatsApp status of Ikip Budi Utomo Malang student in accordance with what is being studied. Based on the results of the research obtained, there are different meanings, namely the lexical meaning itself has 10 meanings, 10 denotative, 5 connotative meanings, 5 meanings of words and terms, associative and collotative 10. Then the factors that influence the meaning in WhatsApp status have two parts, namely internal and external. external. Internal factors that grow in the mind to convey the contents of their hearts or feelings through the WhatsApp status are external factors, namely factors that come from outside or are seen directly around them.
