THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VISUAL MEDIA ON THE ABALITY OF SEVENTH GRADERS IN WRITING DESCRIPTION TEXTS

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the effectiveness of visual media Towards seventh Grade Students’ writing Ability. This study used a Quasi Experiment method. This study were conducted in 16 meetings, which implemented pre-test, treatments, and post-test. There was a class consisted of 62 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used the instrument in writing test namely pre-test and post-test. The pre-test gave to the trainees before doing treatment. When the technique was implemented the researcher acted as the teacher. After doing the treatment by using visual media as learning method, the trainees gave the post-test. The result indicated that the trainees in the pre-test achieved a lower mean score is (57.74 VS 73.87) than in the post-test. From the computation of the independent sentence sample T-test, it was known that T-value= (4.447 was greater than 0.05), Thus it could be summarized that the use of Visual media as learning method in teaching writing at the trainees of Seventh Grade Students’ at SMP Islam Nurul Huda Poncokusumo was found. In addition, based on the significance (to-tailed), it showed that 0.000 was lower than the significant level of, 0.05. In showed, Visual media as learning method could affect the student’ writing skil.
