NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER “KERJA KERAS” PADA NOVEL GURU AINI KARYA ANDREA HIRATA

Abstract

Character education is an important and inseparable part of education in Indonesia. Character education can be defined as education that develops good character that teaches moral values. Character education values ​​can be integrated in the learning process through literary works. Novels are a form of literary work that can be used to instill character education values. The novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata is an educational novel that contains a lot of character education values ​​for the hard work shown by the teachers Desi and Aini in realizing their dreams. Thus, this study aims to describe the form of the value of hard work in the novel. The approach used is a qualitative approach that describes the results of the study using words in descriptive paragraphs. Data collection was carried out using library research techniques, reading techniques, and note-taking techniques. While the way to do data analysis using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the value of hard work character education is manifested in the form of the value of sincere work embodied by the teacher character Desi who is always sincere and works selflessly to get students who are mathematical geniuses, and the earnest value embodied by the character Aini who has the desire to become a child. who is good at math in order to become a reliable doctor.
