Abstract

The novel Rapjali Serial Searching by Dewi Lestari presents the inner conflict of the main character Ping which is very interesting when examined from the perspective of literary psychology. Thus, this study aims to describe the inner conflict of the main character Ping in the novel. The approach used is a qualitative research approach with literary psychology methods. The steps taken in conducting the analysis are to identify to identify the inner conflict experienced by the main character Ping which is then analyzed and concluded.

After being analyzed using these approaches and methods, the following results were obtained. First, the form of the main character's inner conflict uses Kurt Lewin's theory, namely, getting closer, getting closer and moving away. Then the second, the cause of the inner conflict experienced by the main character is about anxiety about facing the big world, anxiety about the future, lack of self-confidence, and being too easily satisfied. Third, the resolution of the inner conflict experienced by the main character Ping when Ping had to inevitably leave Cijulang and move to Jakarta when his grandfather died, and then after some time studying in Jakarta, Ping finally decided to study music because he wanted to continue his education. to music school. Suggestions for further research, namely research on the novel Rapijali Serial Searching by Dewi Lestari, can be studied from a perspective other than a structural perspective and literary psychology, for example a mimetic or semiotic sociological perspective. In addition, to obtain maximum results in conducting literary research, especially novels, accuracy in determining research approaches and methods is something that is necessary.
