sing Pictures Media to Increase Vocabulary for the Tenth Grade Student of SMA Negeri 1 Tana Righu

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to determine whether the use of pictures media can increase students’ vocabulary. The subject of this study was 36 students  at tenth grade of SMAN 1 Tana Righu. In which consist of 18 males and 18 famales. In this research, the researcher gave test in preelementary -test to determine students’ vocabulary mastery after treatment by using pictures media. The kind of this research is classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted in two cycle. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation and reflection. The object of this research is the students’ vocabulary. In collecting the data, the researcher used test and observation. The result of this research showed that pictures media had positive role in increasing the vocabulary at tenth grade of SMA N 1 Tana Righu. It can be proved by the students’ average score from test. The average score premillenary test  was 51.67,  in cycle I was 59.44 and in cycle II became 73.61. it means that the using pictures media can increase the students’ vocabulary mastery.
