Abstract

The main purpose if this research is to know how the problem solving technique affects the speaking ability for eighth grade students at MTs Roudlotul Mubtadiin Wonorejo Pasuruan. The research design which is used in this research was descriptive quantitative experimental with one group of pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this research were eighth grade students. The instruments used were pre-test and post-test. The data gotten were statistically computed by manual calculation. The result of this research showed that t-test is 9.56. It’s higher than t.table at 5% significancy level. So, it can be concluded that problem solving technique to teach speaking is effective.
