Abstract

Experts, through various studies, have assessed that Central Sulawesi Province has the potential to experience earthquakes and tsunamis in the future. This information should serve as a reference for the Tolitoli Regency Government to take preventive measures to anticipate predictions from experts. Therefore, the Department of Education and Culture of Tolitoli Regency, educational institutions, and relevant stakeholders are involved in innovatively internalizing and socializing disaster mitigation values through the curriculum, from Early Childhood Education to High School/equivalent levels. Educational institutions, as formal entities, can be an effective means to educate and instill disaster mitigation values through the learning process. The internalization of disaster mitigation values is a strategic step in shaping a generation in Tolitoli Regency that is aware and responsive to natural disasters, especially earthquakes and tsunamis that occur incidentally. The aim of this research is to formulate a disaster mitigation-based curriculum for educational institutions in Tolitoli Regency. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using literature review and focused group discussions. The research findings conclude that a curriculum based on disaster mitigation has been formulated for educational institutions in Tolitoli Regency, in the form of disaster mitigation learning stages tailored to the difficulty level, teaching, and learning materials at each educational level.
